Frequently Asked Questions About Being an REI Authorized Provider
Q: What does being an Authorized Provider mean?
A: Being an REI Authorized Provider means that you are qualified to offer Rhythmic Entrainment Intervention to your clients. This includes being able to perform the assessments and client support procedures for the REI Therapy Program and being entitled to offer our other CDs to your clients.
Q: Can anyone train to be a provider?
A: Anyone can attend a provider seminar and gain the information that's presented, but only health care professionals - such as occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, and others - may become a provider and offer this therapy to their clients. This is because the assessments and follow-up procedures require education and experience working with clients with specific health issues.
Q: How long is the Authorized Provider Training seminar?
A: The training seminar runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30p.m.
Q: What is included in the seminar fee?
A: Your $225 seminar fee covers the cost of tuition plus lunch and refreshments during the day. You also recieve a copy of our generalized CD Calming Rhythms 3, the Introducing Rhythmic Entrainment Intervention DVD when it becomes available (approximately October 2007), and a subscription to our bimonthly newsletter, The Rhythm Report.
As well, you receive a $100 savings on the first custom REI Custom Program CD set that you order for yourself, a family member, or a client.
Q: Once I'm finished with the training are there any other costs to provide the REI therapy Program or REI Institute CDs?
A: No. As an Authorized Provider you can immediately offer the REI Therapy Program or other REI CDs to your clients without any need for additional equipment or materials. We provide you with free brochures and assessment and follow-up materials as well as free telephone support through our 800 number.
Q: I currently offer one of the "listening" therapies in my practice, isn't this basically the same approach?
A: the REI Tharepy Program is not a "listening" therapy and is not based on either Tomatis' or Berard's work. We use auditory rhythm exclusively rather than frequency to stimulate the listener's brain. The physiological machansims involved with REI and the "listening" therapies are different and the results are generally very different as well.
What this means in a nutshell is that REI is a great complement to the other frequency-based programs instead of a substitute. So, if you currently provide one of the many "listening" therapies, you'll find that adding REI to your practice will enhance what you can offer your clients.
