Alternate week 3 protocol for the REI Custom Program

Tuesday, July 22 2008

As you may know, the current week 3 schedule for the REI Custom Program requires playing CD#1 in the morning and CD#2 in the evening. The reason for this is to transition into CD#2 while also using CD#1. This reduces the likelihood of over-stimulation due to the transition being too abrupt.

Once in a while we hear from someone who's schedule is such that playing a CD in the morning and another in the evening is not possible. In these instances we've suggested alternating the CDs daily. In other words, play CD#1 the first day of the week, CD#2 the second day, CD#1 again the third, and so on for the remainder of the week. Then at week 4 just use CD#2 once a day.

After over a year testing this, we are confident that following this alternate schedule is just as effective in the long run than using both CDs each day for that week, though it does take longer to begin seeing significant results for many people.

So, we still recommend following the original two-CD-a-day-for-week-3 protocol if you can because it does seem to produce faster results.

The only time we wouldn't recommend the original protocol, aside from scheduling problems, is in the case of highly sensitive, easily over-stimulated people. If we see this as being a possibility based on the intake we'll let you know when you receive your CDs.
